Care with a
clear purpose.
A Holter ECG uses a portable monitor to record the heart’s electrical activity during everyday life. It can provide information that a brief recording may not capture. Your clinician will explain the reason for monitoring and the recording period appropriate to your referral.
What this service involves
- Record the heart’s electrical activity over time
- Follow instructions for wearing the monitor
- Return the equipment for review of the recording
Before your visit
Ask the clinic about wearing the monitor, your normal activities and when to return it. Bring your referral and medication list if available.
